What is MicroArt?

MicroArt semi-permanent makeup is the most advanced form of permanent makeup. It has been created by our team of electronic engineers, cosmetic biochemists, and Founder Hollywood special effects makeup artist and filmmaker, Tanya York.

The goal was to develop a makeup procedure that would last for years on the skin, look more natural than traditional makeup, and eliminate the side effects of other forms of permanent makeup.  No other permanent cosmetics method can achieve results as natural as MicroArt without downtime or side effects.

MicroArt has now been enjoyed by thousands of clients for over 15 years, who fly in from around the world to get the procedure. This system is designed to deliver results so natural that 50% of our clients are men.

How is MicroArt able to achieve these incredible results?

  1. Equipment: Designed to deposit color with extreme precision. Greatly reduces pain & eliminates downtime.
  2. Products: Natural, custom-blended mineral-based pigments that we have created.
  3. Techniques: Proprietary design and pigmentation techniques developed over 15+ years.

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MICROART & PERMANENT MAKEUP/MICROBLADING

Permanent makeup is applied using heavy gauge needles or a blade to penetrate deep into the skin causing bleeding, bruising, scabbing, scarring and downtime.  Permanent makeup uses various forms of tattoo inks that are toxic to the body; its colors are harsh and change over time. So people can end up with blue or orange inks in the skin.  Another issue with permanent makeup is that as our skin ages and start to sag the ink end up in the wrong place so it actually accentuates the signs of aging.

Permanent makeup artists’ training is only a few days. Their minimal training and the equipment & products used all contribute to the harsh look associated with permanent makeup and microblading.  The best way to fix is with MicroArt.

MicroArt Semi Permanent makeup, on the other hand, has the most natural results. There is NO downtime, NO bruising, NO scabbing, NO scarring.  Because MicroArt technology uses an acupuncture needle as thin as a human hair that vibrates on the dermal layer of the skin 80 to 100 times per second, the results are precise. Colors are custom blended with non-toxic mineral-based pigments. The design is customized to fit each patient’s look and desires by our Artist. It takes about 1 year to train a Micro-Artist to perform the procedure. The results are amazing.

How We Guarantee That You Will Love Your Microart

Numerous steps are taken during each appointment to ensure that you will love your MicroArt Semi Permanent Makeup.

THE COLOR: Our colors are custom-blended, offering an unlimited selection. Some clients prefer to bring in their favorite makeup for us to match the color. We specialize in achieving very natural-looking results, and most clients choose MicroArt because they are looking for a natural appearance.

EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS: All MicroArt Technicians are certified by MicroArt Founder & President, Tanya York. Each Technician undergoes 12 months of training before being certified and must be as skilled as Ms. York herself before being permitted to work on clients.

How Does MicroArt Eliminate Side Effects?

  • Equipment: Specialized equipment developed by MicroArt for unrivaled precision.
  • Clinics: MicroArt procedures are performed in a medical office and surpassing stringent County Health Department inspections.
  • Products: Mineral pigments developed by MicroArt that will not change color and are safe for your skin.
  • Technique: A technique developed over the years to ensure the ideal, custom shape and color is provided to each client
  • Technicians: All technicians are personally trained by MicroArt’s founder and are not licensed until her work is indistinguishable from our founders

What Happens During the Procedure?

The pigment is gently layered in the dermal layer of the skin. MicroArt utilizes proprietary technology. Our Equipment uses a single acupuncture needle that gently vibrates on the dermal layers of the skin, depositing a mineral-based pigment into the skin. A pigment is precisely applied in thin layers until the ideal color is achieved, creating a completely natural look.

MicroArt

MicroArt Semi Permanent Makeup® is the most advanced form of cosmetic tattooing, achieving the most natural results without any side effects.

There is NO downtime, NO bruising, NO scabbing, NO scarring.

MicroArt equipment uses an acupuncture needle as thin as a human hair that vibrates on the outer layer of the skin 80 to 100 times per second. The results are precise. Colors are custom-blended with non-toxic mineral-based pigments. Our Artist customizes the design to fit each patient’s look and desires. It takes about 1 year to train a Micro-Artist to perform the procedure. The results are incredibly natural.

Other Techniques

Permanent makeup is applied using heavy-gauge needles or a blade to penetrate deep into the skin, causing bleeding, bruising, scabbing, scarring, and downtime.  Other techniques use tattoo inks that are toxic to the body; colors are harsh and change in the skin over time. So people can end up with blue/grey and orange inks in the skin.  Permanent makeup often accentuates signs of aging. Over time, the ink moves as the skin stretches and ends up in the wrong place.

Permanent makeup artists’ training is only a few days. The equipment & products used all contribute to the harsh look associated with permanent makeup and microblading.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MELASMA CAMOUFLAGE TREATMENTS

YES! MicroArt has been used to camouflage melasma and other skin discolorations for over 16 years with amazing results on all clients. There are no known side effects, and it is 100% safe to apply to people with melasma.

The goal is to match the color, over the course of your treatments, so that no one can tell that you ever had melasma.

Color matching is achieved through the series of sessions during which the color is evaluated and your custom color mix is fine-tuned as needed. About two weeks after each procedure, the skin exfoliates and the color settles in so we re-evaluate and adjust in a subsequent session as needed.

The Color: Your technician will evaluate your skin color at the beginning of each session and custom blend a color to match your skin tone.

Pigmentation: During each appointment, a layer of pigment is added to the skin. MicroArt uses a single acupuncture needle that gently vibrates in the dermal layers of the skin depositing a mineral-based pigment until your melasma is completely camouflaged and the skin tone matches.

4-sessions are usually needed to get the results. Each session is scheduled at least 4 weeks apart.

Additional sessions might be needed after completing your initial series of 4 sessions if the color is not matched or blended.

About 80% of our clients see great results in 4 sessions but for about 20% of cases, additional sessions are necessary and the price is changed on an hourly basis for these.

There will be some irritation right after your treatment. This calms down and disappears in 3-10 days after each treatment. The number of irritation varies depending on a number of factors,  the general health of the client,  what area of the body was worked on, and how much pigment was applied.  After a few days, the skin will slightly exfoliate and the pigment settles in.

It is important that you use the  MicroArt after-care products provided for 7 days after each session and no makeup or other products should be worn on the area for 7 days after each session.

Most clients choose to maintain the work we did for them.

However, maintenance appointments are optional and not required.  If you do not maintain MicroArt, it will completely fade away over time so it’s not something that requires maintaining.

Each client’s maintenance schedule is different based on the area of the body and how fast the skin exfoliates. Some clients come in every few months for touch-up sessions while others every 1-2 years.

We do not recommend that you continue doing any other treatments once you have decided on MicroArt Camouflage.

MicroArt is your final solution and you will not need any other treatment as we can fully camouflage the desired area leaving lasers unnecessary.

The level of discomfort varies from person to person depending on what area of the body is being camouflaged. A strong topical numbing cream is used.

MicroArt uses a single acupuncture needle that gently vibrates on the outer dermal layers of the skin, therefore discomfort is minimal.

Numbing injections can be scheduled with the doctors that we work with and are an additional cost. Numbing injections are required when we work on hands, as they are too sensitive to camouflage without them.

  • Arrive at your appointment 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment, well rested and relaxed.
  • If you wear makeup on the area that is being camouflaged.  Please remove it prior to your appointment so that you can get the most out of the time during your session.
  • Please do not wear light-colored clothing over the area that will be camouflaged as the skin might sweat a little pigment afterward.

Lidocaine injections can be provided if scheduled in advance. They are administered by a nurse or doctor who is scheduled on certain days. There is an additional cost for injections. Please call for current prices.

Lidocaine injections are mandatory when we work on hands, as they are very sensitive. All other areas are at your discretion.

When your skin tans, pigment applied to the skin will not change color or tan with the surrounding skin.

We advise our melasma clients to maintain a constant skin color throughout the year so that their MicroArt makeup will maintain the best color match for as long as possible. However, some clients will schedule a maintenance appointment around the time that they get a tan in early summer so that we can match their MicroArt to that tanned skin color. As the tan lightens up a bit during the winter, MicroArt will gradually fade a little so that it will also lighten up.

We do not work on genitals or men or women.

This is the only was that we do not work on.

Any area outside the underpants can be camouflaged.

Salt Water or chlorine does NOT affect the results or how long it lasts. It will not change the color of your pigments.
