WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROCEDURE
PIGMENTATION
The pigment is gently layered in the dermal layer of the skin. MicroArt utilizes proprietary technology. Our Equipment uses a single acupuncture needle that gently vibrates on the dermal layers of the skin, depositing a mineral-based pigment into the skin. A pigment is precisely applied in thin layers until the ideal color is achieved, creating a completely natural look.
Permanent makeup is applied using heavy gauge needles or a blade to penetrate deep into the skin causing bleeding, bruising, scabbing, scarring, and downtime. Permanent makeup uses various forms of tattoo inks that are toxic to the body; its colors are harsh and change over time. So people can end up with blue or orange inks in the skin. Another issue with permanent makeup is that as our skin ages and starts to sag the ink ends up in the wrong place so it actually accentuates the signs of aging.
Permanent makeup artists’ training is only a few days. Their minimal training and the equipment & products used all contribute to the harsh look associated with permanent makeup and microblading. The best way to fix it with MicroArt.
MicroArt Semi Permanent makeup, on the other hand, has the most natural results. There is NO downtime, NO bruising, NO scabbing, NO scarring. Because MicroArt technology uses an acupuncture needle as thin as a human hair that vibrates on the dermal layer of the skin 80 to 100 times per second, the results are precise. Colors are custom blended with non-toxic mineral-based pigments. The design is customized to fit each patient’s looks and desires by our Artist. It takes about 1 year to train a Micro-Artist to perform the procedure. The results are amazing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MICROART Melasma CAMOUFLAGE
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER EACH SESSION?
There will be some temporary swelling and redness right after your treatment. This may take several days to disappear, depending on which area of the body, how much pigment is applied, and the general health of the skin.
Right after your Melasma camouflage procedure, the color will appear stronger compared with how it will ultimately look. Within a few days, the skin will start to slightly exfoliate, and the color will become lighter to become the intended shade, creating a natural appearance that blends seamlessly with your surrounding skin. No makeup should be worn on the pigmented skin for seven days after each session.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING EACH MELASMA CAMOUFLAGE TREATMENT?
Colors are custom-blended for each area to match your skin tone. Pigments are non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and are sourced from natural minerals. We have never had a single allergic reaction to any of our products. Pigment is deposited into the melasma tissue and blended slightly into the adjacent skin. This same camouflage technique is also used for stretch marks and various skin discolorations. This is performed using proprietary equipment that houses a single acupuncture needle (the width of a human hair) that gently vibrates on the outer layers of the skin. The vibration deposits pigment into the skin until the desired color is achieved. Your MicroArt artist evaluates the skin tone at the beginning of each session and custom-blends a color to match your natural skin tone best.
How many sessions do I need?
Multiple sessions are needed in order to seamlessly match your color and cover your Melasma. During each session, a pigment is blended into the skin in layers. For our new clients initially, 4 sessions, 4 weeks apart, are required. Because some of the pigment exfoliates after each session, a series of sessions is necessary to build the color into the skin and seamlessly match your skin color. It takes about 4 weeks after each appointment for the color to completely settle and stabilize. During each session, more pigment is added to the skin in thin layers, changing the color of the skin and blending it with your natural skin color. You will see instant results after each session. Every 4 weeks, you’ll return for more pigmentation until you have had 4 treatments. During each session, the color is reviewed and adjustments are made if needed.
Each melasma camouflage treatment is unique, so the number of sessions needed to obtain the desired results will vary based on each client’s situation. On average, 80% of our clients are color-matched in 4 treatments, whether they’re seeking melasma camouflage, stretch marks treatment, or coverage for skin discolorations.
What can I expect after each session?
You will see the results right away! After each session, the pigment will appear intense and will lighten up in time for your next session when we add more pigment. After each camouflage session, the color fades less until the color is matched and blended. Your skin will be a little red and irritated for 3 to 10 days after each melasma camouflage procedure. Like a sunburn. No foundation makeup or skin care products can be used on this area for 7 days, other than the custom hypoallergenic after-care products we provide you to use twice a day (included in the treatment price). After 7 days, you can use your regular skin care products again.
How long will it last?
MicroArt treatments for melasma camouflage typically lasts up to 3 years on the skin if not maintained, though this varies somewhat individually. During that time, it will gradually fade. Most clients choose to maintain their melasma camouflage by coming in for a touch-up session, ranging from every six months to two years, depending on their your skin tone. With maintenance sessions, your melasma will never be seen again.
Will it hurt?
The level of discomfort varies from person to person, depending on what area of the face or body is being camouflaged. We always use a strong topical numbing cream. MicroArt uses a single acupuncture needle (the width of a single human hair) that gently vibrates on the outer layers of the skin, so discomfort is minimal during melasma camouflage procedures. For sensitive areas such as hands, lidocaine injections are available at an added cost and must be pre-scheduled.
